Linda Perhacs Gets Julia Holter and Devandra Banhart for New LP, Shares "The Dancer"

Acclaimed folk artist Linda Perhacs made a major comeback in 2014 with The Soul of All Natural Things, marking her first album since 1970's Parallelograms. That effort roped in collaborators like Julia Holter and Nite Jewel's Ramona Gonzalez — and it's about to get a follow-up.

Perhacs has launched a Kickstarter campaign to keep the upcoming release totally independent, offering backers perks like signed merchandise and Skype sessions in addition to, of course, the brand new music.

The record will be co-produced by Wilco's Pat Sansone and Fernando Perdomo (who also worked on The Soul of All Natural Things) and features an array of guest collaborators including Holter once again, Devandra Banhart, Chris Price, Jonathan Wilson, Durga McBroom and Michelle Vidal.

The crowdfunding campaign will only receive funding if $20,000 is pledged by May 6. At the time of publication, the project has already received $1,206.

To entice further contributions, Perhacs has shared the first snippet of new material, offering up a single titled "The Dancer." Give it a listen below.
