Lil Wayne Sets New Guinness World Record Thanks to 'Tha Carter IV'

While we may have hinted at Lil Wayne's ninth album Tha Carter IV being a little subpar, featuring some of the rapper's bunkest rhymes to date, the record has still been an astounding success for the MC thus far. In the U.S. alone, it's already sold more than a million copies since its late August release and now its singles have helped land Weezy in the Guinness Book of World Records for most rap singles in the US Hot 100 charts.

The hip-hop icon, who currently has four songs ("How to Love," "She Will," "Mirror" and "Blunt Blowin") scattered throughout the Billboard charts, has accumulated 82 chart nods in his career, placing him well above the next in line, Jay-Z, who weighs in at a paltry 66 hit singles. Mind you, Lil Wayne's record is for the most rap singles. Top honours for the chart go to the cast of Glee, who have placed a staggering, and arguably sickening, 156 songs on the Hot 100.

Earlier this year, Weezy racked up his first Guinness record when he garnered the most Facebook likes in one day (588,243), demolishing the previous winner, Nabisco's Oreo cookie.
