Lil Kim Gives 'Hard Core 2K14' Mixtape September Due Date

After a number of delays, veteran rap "Queen Bee" Lil Kim has fit her long-in-the-works Hard Core 2K14 mixtape with an official due date of September 11.

The MC revealed the release date earlier today through her Twitter account, noting "#TheWaitIsOva." While the rapper had been talking about a follow-up to her 1996 LP Hard Core as far back as 2010, last year she had promised she'd be delivering the retooled Hard Core 2K13 on Halloween, 2013. It's unclear why the tape didn't make it out on time, but apparently the kinks have been worked out and the project is ready to go.

Lil Kim has been serving up a series of remixes of late, including Bobby Shmurda's "Hot N*gga," which you can stream down below, and her recent Nicki Minaj-attacking redo of Beyoncé's "Flawless." She also dug into Minaj with the unveiling of diss track "Identity Theft," which can also be streamed down below.

Hard Core 2K14 follows Kim's 2011 mixtape "Black Friday". The rapper hasn't delivered a studio album since 2005's The Naked Truth.
