Leonard Cohen Announces 'Popular Problems' LP

It's only been two years since renowned poet and songwriter Leonard Cohen released his Old Ideas LP, but the hard-working icon has already completed its follow-up.

Rolling Stone reports that news of Cohen's latest release leaked at Leonard Cohen Event 2014, an official fan event in Dublin, Ireland. The release reportedly bears the title Popular Problems (which, for what it's worth, sounds like it could also be a DJ Khaled album).

A booklet at the event announced the album, saying, "Leonard has worked hard on his next studio album of entirely new songs.... He asked me to let you know that Popular Problems will be out at the end of September, shortly after his 80th birthday."

Rolling Stone reached out to Jarkko Arjatsalo, an accountant who runs Cohen's website and also wrote the fan booklet. He explained that he received word of Popular Problems "directly from Leonard" and also said "There are no tour plans! We are now looking forward to a great new studio album."

It's also worth noting that Amazon France lists Popular Problems with a September 22 release date.
