Lauryn Hill Unveils New Version of "I Find It Hard to Say (Rebel)"
Published Oct 17, 2016Lauryn Hill originally released "I Find It Hard to Say (Rebel)" on 2002's acoustic live album MTV Unplugged No. 2.0, but the singer-songwriter has just updated the track and unveiled a reworked version.
The song was initially inspired by the 1999 shooting of a 23-year-old black man named Amadou Diallo by four plain-clothed New York City cops. Now, 17 years later, Hill has shared a new version of the same track with the message: "Old tune, new Version, same context, even more relevant now: sick and tired of being sick and tired."
