Lauryn Hill originally released "I Find It Hard to Say (Rebel)" on 2002's acoustic live album MTV Unplugged No. 2.0, but the singer-songwriter has just updated the track and unveiled a reworked version.

The song was initially inspired by the 1999 shooting of a 23-year-old black man named Amadou Diallo by four plain-clothed New York City cops. Now, 17 years later, Hill has shared a new version of the same track with the message: "Old tune, new Version, same context, even more relevant now: sick and tired of being sick and tired."

The 2016 take on "I Find It Hard to Say (Rebel)" can be previewed and streamed in the player below via Tidal. It hits Jay Z's streaming service following an appearance from Hill appearance at the TIDAL X 1015 charity show on Saturday (October 15). Beyond that, you can also listen to the 2002 MTV Unplugged rendition.

You can also see Hill's remaining North American tour dates here, including a Canadian stop in Vancouver on November 8.
