No strangers to excellently curated festivals, Victoria residents will soon have another option for their musical outings with the arrival of the Pretty Good Not Bad festival.

Based on its inaugural lineup, we'd say this fest is selling itself short. The three-day event includes appearances from Berlin-based composer Laurel Halo, Vancouver sound-sculptor Loscil and rising Toronto pianist Jean-Michel Blais.

That's just scratching the surface, as the fest also includes appearances from Phédre, Freak Heat Waves, Souns, Sean Evans & Chris Dammeyer, okpk, Tara Campbell, Sister Blanche, Shearing Pinx, Fountain and Transient.

Further, the fest will include a dance presentation from Broken Rhythms, a multimedia performance from Hyenas, a video installation from EMP Interactions, a lighting and environment exhibition from Michael Franzmann and video animation from Max Renn.

Pretty Good Not Bad runs from June 17 to 19 at various venues in Victoria. For more information, visit the fest's official site here
