The Last Reunite for New Album, Add the Descendents' Bill Stevenson and Karl Alvarez to Lineup

Seventeen years after Los Angeles power pop outfit the Last issued Gin & Innuendoes, the group have announced a follow-up and a major lineup change.

A press release notes that the album, titled Danger!, arrives sometime this fall through End Sounds. Though tracklisting info has yet to arrive, the set was recorded by Bill Stevenson (Black Flag, Descendents, All), which is pretty convenient as it's been revealed he's also drumming for the band. Also joining Stevenson and founders/brothers Joe and Mike Nolte is fellow punk veteran and Descendents bass player Karl Alvarez.

"Punk, in general, owes quite a great deal to the Last, as we hope you'll find out," End Sounds president Jonathan Gill said in a statement. "When Joe Nolte and Bill Stevenson asked if End Sounds would like to release their next record, it felt like a circle being completed. We're all very excited. They keep progressing, and we hope you hear that with the new songs. Get ready for some snarl and melody."

Samples from the set have yet to arrive, but the band will no doubt break out the new tunes when they play Gainesville, FL's the Fest on November 3. Additional dates and album info will be revealed in the near future.
