Lady Gaga's lawyers claim that Dr. Luke is manipulating the truth by exaggerating Gaga's role in the ongoing court battle between the producer and Kesha.
Over the weekend (July 29), TMZ reported that Dr. Luke (real name Lukasz Gottwald) had filed paperwork requesting that the judge order Gaga sit for a three-hour face-to-face deposition and provide full details a text message conversation between her and Kesha.
"Dr. Luke's counsel served a subpoena on Lady Gaga because she has relevant information regarding, among other things, false statements about Dr. Luke made to her by Kesha," Gottwald's lawyer said in a statement on Saturday (July 29). "This motion has become necessary because Dr. Luke's counsel has not been able to obtain, despite repeated request, a deposition date from Lady Gaga."
Gottwald's team had previously subpoenaed the Joanne singer for the transcript of that text message conversation and a written statement, but apparently the copy they received was so heavily redacted that it was incomprehensible.
Now, Gaga's lawyers have shot back, accusing Gottwald of projecting false information to grab publicity.
"As Lady Gaga's legal team will present to the court, she has provided all of the relevant information in her possession and is at most an ancillary witness in this process," a rep for Gaga told Variety. "Dr. Luke's team is attempting to manipulate the truth and draw press attention to their case by exaggerating Lady Gaga's role and falsely accusing her of dodging reasonable requests."
Gottwald has yet to respond to the comments. Earlier this year, Sony cut officially ties with the producer.
Throughout the legal drama, Gaga has publicly defended Kesha, frequently offering her support via social media.

Isn't it strange that it's legal to own a woman this way? Listen Ursula, we want her voice back. #freeKesha https://t.co/rifG9nWRWw
