La Dispute are returning with their first album in six years. No One Was Driving the Car arrives September 5 via Epitaph.

The record is heavily inspired by the 2017 thriller First Reformed, and its title comes from a news article quote vocalist Jordan Dreyer read about a deadly crash involving a self-driving Tesla.

Along with releasing the album's first three tracks — "I Shaved My Head," "Man with Hands and Ankles Bound" and "Autofiction Detail" — the band have announced a string of tour dates. After a jaunt around Europe in July, La Dispute will launch their North American leg in Detroit on September 5. The next day (September 6), they'll cross the border to play Toronto's Phoenix Concert Theatre. That'll be the tour's only Canadian stop, as the band will cross back to the States right after.

Presale for the tour is happening now, and general on-sale begins Friday (May 16). More information can be found on La Dispute's Linktree.
