Korn had an absolutely disastrous tour over the summer and fall in which they kept playing shows despite several members testing positive for COVID-19. Moving on from that, the group have announced the details of a new album. Requiem is out on February 4 via Loma Vista, and video for lead single "Start the Healing" is out now.

The band previously teased this album, saying they had written a new batch of songs in lockdown. A press release notes that lockdown gave them time to write without limitations and devote more time than ever to the creative process.

The announcement says, "Energized by a new creative process free of time constraints, the band was able to do things with Requiem that the past two decades haven't always afforded them, such as taking additional time to experiment together or diligently recording to analog tape – processes which unearthed newfound sonic dimension and texture in their music." The album was produced by the band along with Chris Collier.

As for "Start the Healing," it pairs melancholy melodies with blasts of heavy, detuned guitar distortion. The video was directed by Tim Saccenti and features the band performing amidst eerie strobes and creepy 3D imagery.
