Kings of Leon have been the subject of much debate and hilarity in recent years; they've been set back by tour bus fires, pigeon poo and (alleged) heat exhaustion, and have started feuds with Glee, hipsters and large multi-member bands. It's about time, then, that their documentary came to DVD.
Entitled Talihina Sky: The Story of Kings of Leon, the film previously screened at Tribeca Film Festival and on Showtime earlier this year. On November 1, the film will finally come to DVD, Blu-ray and iTunes via RCA Records. The physical formats come with 45 minutes of bonus footage.
According to a press release, the film "lies to rest the mystery and myths as it details the rise to fame from their bible belt beginnings."
It was directed by the band's personal friend Stephen C. Mitchell, and includes "personal home videos, unedited interviews and behind-the-scenes footage of the band's journey from their small-town beginnings."
