Two years ago, Kendrick Lamar released his wildly successful breakthrough album good kid, m.A.A.d city. While it's been a long time coming, a follow-up LP is finally in the works.

According to a recent story from Complex, Lamar has recorded approximately 40 new songs for the record. The artist said he's "getting his ideas down."

The LP features production from TDE mainstays Tae Beast and Sounwave, as well as Lamar's mentor (and rap's first billionaire) Dr. Dre.

As for a title, Lamar said he's "flirting with ideas" but didn't reveal any of those ideas just yet.

Either way, the good kid, m.A.A.d city follow-up LP is expected to be released in the fourth quarter of 2014.
