Ken Camden

"Eta Carine"

Implodes member Ken Camden recently announced Space Mirror, a promising-looking solo album due out on July 29 through Kranky. He's now share a taste from that collection in the form of "Eta Carine."

This sprawling seven-minute cut begins with soft ambient drones. It never fully coalesces into a proper rhythm, but the swells become increasingly urgent and the floating synths become denser and a little less aimless as it builds towards a crescendo of tones.

A press release previously said of Space Mirror, "The glimmering sound fields [Camden] forms could be a soundtrack to an epic '60s science-fiction film, or a long forgotten grade school educational film strip explaining how humans would be living on Mars early in the 21st century."
