Kate Pierson of the B-52's Teams Up with Sia, the Strokes' Nick Valensi for New Solo Album

Best known for her work with legendary new wave act the B-52's, singer and musician Kate Pierson has announced plans to release a new solo album.

As Pitchfork reports, the release is called Guitars and Microphones, and features 10 songs from the performer. The album was executive produced by Sia, who also contributed to its songwriting.

In addition to Sia, the album was produced by Tim Anderson and features work from the Strokes' Nick Valenci. Fred Armisen appears in the video for "Mister Sister," the album's lead single, which can be viewed below.

Guitars and Microphones will be available on February 15 via Lazy Meadow/Kobalt. Lazy Meadow, for what it's worth, is also the name of the funky hotel that Pierson runs.
