After announcing the Oscar longlist for Best Original Score last week, those PR savvy people at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences have kept our attention with a longlist for the Best Original Song.

The longlist, which was unveiled by the Hollywood Reporter, is not the list of actual nominees, but of songs that are eligible for nomination.

Among them are works from The xx, Florence and the Machine, Lana Del Rey, and Jay Z, all of whom contributed to the soundtrack for The Great Gatsby.

There are also contributions from M83's work on Oblivion, Karen O's contribution to Her, Coldplay's work on The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, and José González and Ryan Adams for their work on The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. For what it's worth, Will Ferrell's Anchorman 2 song was also nominated.

You can check out the entire longlist here.

Oscar nominations will be announced on January 16, followed by an awards show on March 2.
