Miley Cyrus can't seem to make friends with Radiohead, but she might stand a chance of getting invited to Karen O's cool New York parties. After all, it's thanks to the tween pop princess that Karen O's Where the Wild Things Are track, "All Is Love," was added to the mostly dismal Grammy nominations list.
Cyrus's song "The Climb," from Hannah Montana: The Movie, was initially nominated for the Best Song Written for Motion Picture, Television or Other Visual Media award. As Rolling Stone points out, the track was pulled out of the running because it was "not eligible for contention."
And while it's ridiculous that a default like this is required to earn a great song a Grammy nod in this category, at least Karen O's band, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, were already nominated for best alternative music album without any pre-award-ceremony meddling.
