Kanye West Planning Spoken Word Album?

BY Alex HudsonPublished Apr 29, 2014

Kanye West is known for his epic diatribes and quotable interviews, and rumours suggest that the rapper might soon be giving the world his greatest rant ever in the form of a spoken word album.

This is still only a rumour and its legitimacy is unconfirmed, but a source tells the UK's Sun newspaper [via Contact Music] that the project will consist of a three-hour recording on vinyl. Yeezy will apparently speak on topics like the environment, his fiancee Kim Kardashian and their infant daughter North.

According to the anonymous source, "Kanye loves the sound of his own voice and this will be the ultimate in self-indulgence. He has very strong views on everything from music and art to politics and the environment. He's forever recording his opinions on tape. He says he's doing it for posterity and thought about turning them into a book or even donating them to a museum."

It gets even crazier: in addition to the three-hour vinyl version, there will allegedly be a 24-hour version available as a digital download. West apparently has his sights set on the Grammy Award for Best Spoken Word Album.

It remains to be seen whether this pans out or if it ends being only a rumour. Whatever the case, we hope this isn't the project isn't the one he's been working on with Rick Rubin and Q-Tip.
