Kanye West Postpones Australian Tour to Finish New Album

Published Mar 31, 2014
Kanye West had been scheduled to tour in Australia in May, but the rapper has reportedly pulled a Death Grips and postponed the outing in order to finish his new album.
According to a statement from Live Nation [via the Sunday Morning Herald/Consequence of Sound], Yeezy has delayed the outing until September to allow him time to hunker down in the studio. The planned album will apparently be out this year.
The announcement reads, "Due to unexpected timing requirements to finish his highly anticipated new studio album, scheduled for a 2014 release, Kanye West regretfully announces the postponement of his upcoming tour dates in Australia."
The news that Kanye is working on a new album doesn't come entirely out of the blue, since he began talking about the planned collection last year and said that it might be ready in time for the summer of 2014. Q-Tip and Rick Rubin have apparently been tapped as producers, and album might contain a modest eight songs.
