We ranked Kanye West as one of the top newsmakers of 2012, and the rapper has capped off the year with arguably his most gossip-worthy announcement yet: that his girlfriend, Kim Kardashian, is pregnant with their child.

Kanye shared the news during a concert last night (December 30) in Atlantic City, NJ. He paused a song to tell the crowd, "Make some noise for my baby mama right there," pointing towards his girlfriend in the crowd. He also serenaded her by signing, "You're having my baby." Kardashian subsequently wrote in an announcement on her blog, "It's true!! Kanye and I are expecting a baby. We feel so blessed and lucky and wish that in addition to both of our families, his mom and my dad could be here to celebrate this special time with us. Looking forward to great new beginnings in 2013 and to starting a family. Happy New Year!!! Xo"

This is the highlight of a newsworthy few days for Kanye. During an earlier concert in Atlantic City on Friday (December 28), he wore a strange-looking yeti mask and showered the audience with fake snow. At another point in the concert, he wore a mask covered with diamonds to perform a remix of Rihanna's "Diamonds."

The next night in Atlantic City, Kanye went on an onstage tirade about the media. He said, "It won't be long before we're designing shit, stores, movies, clothes, operas. It won't be long now. You know the press and the media will try to come up with all of the dumbest shit in the world to try to distract y'all from what you're seeing and experiencing right now but it won't be long. It won't be long now. And they'll try to tell you, 'Kanye's so crazy, so deranged. I ain't crazy, I'm just not satisfied! I just ain't satisfied with the shit they be feeding y'all on TV. The shit they be feeding y'all in the movies, the shit they be giving y'all in the stores. I just want y'all to have more."

The rant continued from there, and he said, "When I was a producer they told me not to rap. They said, 'You don't look gangster enough, where's your throwback? Where's your fitted hat? How the fuck is you trying to fucking rap? Look at your pants, man, how skinny is that!? What the fuck makes you think that you could rap?"
