Kanye West "Blood on the Leaves" (live at the VMAs)

While Kanye West has a spotty history with MTV's VMAs, the hip-hop auteur kept things entirely simple when he appeared at the awards show. Rather than go for melodrama, he kept things simple while tearing it up with a performance of Yeezus standout "Blood on the Leaves."

In front of an arty backdrop, with a still photograph of a forest-filled area, the entirety of Kanye's performance saw his silhouette wilding out and delivering the melodramatic track. The track itself, which combines a Nina Simone sample with a giant TNGHT beat, sounded half-decent despite the broadcast's spotty audio quality.
