Justin Timberlake and Marcus Mumford Team Up for Soundtrack to New Coen Brothers Film

Pop star Justin Timberlake recently revealed his "Legends of the Summer" collaborative tour with good buddy Jay-Z, but it looks as if the "Suit & Tie" singer will be joining forces with another Grammy winner for an upcoming film score: Mumford and Sons' Marcus Mumford.

Timberlake recently revealed he'll be partnering with the folkie on the soundtrack to the Coen brothers' upcoming Inside Llewyn Davis, a film in which Timberlake also stars. Mumford's wife Carey Mulligan is in the flick as well, along with Oscar Isaac, so it's pretty easy to connect the dots on this one.

"OK I can tell you this. There's a Coen Brothers film coming out soon that I was lucky enough to work with Oscar Isaac and Carey Mulligan," Timberlake told Capital FM [via Consequence of Sound]. "And coincidentally I did work with Marcus Mumford on the soundtrack, so I became very good friends with them. Marcus and myself, we all kind of worked on the music together and I don't know any other world where we would have the opportunity to collaborate like that but it was so much fun. So not only will that be a great movie, but the music to it will be fantastic."

Inside Llewyn Davis, which is loosely based around folk singer Dave Von Ronk and the 1960s Greenwich Village folk scene, hits theatres next December. You can check out a trailer down below.

In the meantime, Timberlake drops his third solo LP, The 20/20 Experience on March 19. Mumford and the rest of his band, meanwhile, are gearing up for their "Gentlemen of the Road Stopovers" festival tour, which hits Simcoe, ON, on July 23 and 24.
