Jim Jarmusch & Jozef van Wissem

"The Sun of the Natural World is Pure Fire" (video)

Earlier this year, filmmaker Jim Jarmusch made his latest foray into the world of music when he teamed up with Dutch lute player Jozef van Wissem for the collaborative album Concerning the Entrance into Eternity. Now, Jarmusch and van Wissem have released a music video for a track from that previous album in advance of another collaborative disc.

"The Sun of the Natural World is Pure Fire" is an epic-length track that melds Jarmusch's scorching guitar feedback with van Wissem's baroque lute plucking. The ten-minute video that accompanies it is just as dark, strange and artistic as you'd expect given the song, as it blends shots of water with crystals, prisms, and implications of spiritual cleansing.

As for the upcoming album, it's called The Mystery of Heaven and it's due out November 13 through Sacred Bones.
