While Peter Hook is claiming that some "rescued" cassette tapes are being held for ransom and Kanye West is hanging out with the band's iconic designer Peter Saville, fans of Joy Division may be treated to a new official release sooner than later, with a proposed book of Ian Curtis scribblings on the docket.

The late singer's journals and notebooks are set to be published by Faber next year in a volume titled So This Is Permanence: Lyrics and Notebooks. According to the book company, the writings "throw his lyrics into relief and cast light on the creative process of this influential and legendary songwriter."

In addition to personal notes and hand-written lyrics, the book is set to include a foreword by his widow, Deborah Curtis, and edits from music journalist Jon savage.

No word yet on an official release date, but the book is expected to arrive in the spring.
