Jonny Greenwood to Score Paul Thomas Anderson's 'The Master'

Radiohead may be recording this winter, but guitarist Jonny Greenwood has even more music in store for us in the near future via a new film score for Paul Thomas Anderson's next film, The Master.

As The Playlist points out, a tweet from British record label Babel's founder Oliver Weindling leaked news that the jazzy Zed-U, who record for the imprint, would be guesting on the Greenwood-helmed project, writing, "Zed-U recorded part of soundtrack for Jonny Greenwood of Radiohead last week. Film (by Paul Thomas Anderson) to appear in 2013."

There's no exact word on when either the film or its score will drop, but Anderson's next film is said to be a 1950s period piece about a man whose faith-based organization catches on across America. Philip Seymour Hoffman stars in the film, along with Joaquin Phoenix and Amy Adams.

While the religious theme carries on from Anderson's 2007 flick There Will Be Blood, only time will tell whether Greenwood will similarly touch upon the same dark territory as his Grammy-nominated score.

Earlier this year, Greenwood worked with director Lynne Ramsay to score her film We Need to Talk About Kevin.
