Johnny Marr Details 'Set the Boy Free' Autobiography

Last year, Johnny Marr announced plans to release an autobiography and details about the forthcoming book have now been fleshed out.

Titled Set the Boy Free, the memoir is due out on November 3 through Dey Street Books.

"I wanted to convey a feeling of breaking free, that has been a constant throughout my life," Marr said in a statement about the book's title. "A feeling that expresses itself as both escape and discovery. Transcendence. I found it through rock 'n' roll and art and a journey living both in the modern world."

Marr's autobiography will hear the musician tell his own story, beginning at his childhood, through his time with the Smiths, and into his more recent projects like working with Electronic, The The, the Pretenders, Modest Mouse, the Cribs and putting out his own solo material.

Marr most recently released a live album called Adrenalin Baby, following up his 2014 studio album Playland. His upcoming memoir follows that of his Smiths co-founder Morrissey's own personal account of the band's history in 2013's Autobiography.
