For whatever reason, Johnny Depp is leading a new thriller about the murder of the Notorious B.I.G., and for better or worse, the long-delayed film is finally coming out. And with that news, we've now got a new trailer for City of Lies.

The upcoming film — which finds Jack Sparrow himself investigating the murder of rap icon Christopher Wallace — is directed by Brad Furman, with a script helmed by Christian Contreras and based on the book LAbyrinth by Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Randall Sullivan.

In the film, Depp will be playing Russell Poole, the LAPD detective who spent two decades trying to solve the murder of Notorious B.I.G. City of Lies also features Forest Whitaker as journalist Jack Jackson, who teams up with Poole to help solve the case.

Thanks to Depp's never-ending legal troubles, the film has been tied up for years, and it was even set to come out way back in 2018 at one point. But City of Lies is finally ready to be released on March 19 in whichever theatres are now open. It will then appear on VOD and digitally on April 9.

So yeah, the Johnny Depp/Notorious B.I.G. collab is really happening whether you like it or not.
