John Oliver's Three-Year-Old Is "Really into" the Red Hot Chili Peppers' Saddest Song

"It's the only thing he wants to be played, it's the only thing he wants to be sung to him at night"

British comedian, late-night host, sewage plant namesake and our high-strung homie John Oliver is father to two kids, and apparently, his three-year-old son is just like you: he's "really into" the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

In an instance of late-night inception, Oliver made an appearance on The Tonight Show this week (April 13). He sat down with Jimmy Fallon, a fellow dad about town, who naturally asked how the bespectacled political commentator's kids were doing at around the three-minute mark in the clip below.

"The three-year-old has gotten really into the Red Hot Chili Peppers," Oliver shared, prompting laughter from the audience. "I wasn't expecting it either, but he heard 'Under the Bridge' once and has become obsessed with it. It's the only thing he wants to be played, it's the only thing he wants to be sung to him at night," the personality said of RHCP's 1991 Blood Sugar Sex Magik cut.

He added: "You haven't heard 'Under the Bridge' until you've heard a three-year-old gaze sorrowfully into the mid-distance and sing: 'Sometimes I feel like I don't have a partner / Sometimes I feel like my only fwend' — with a W," Oliver emphasized.

"What the fuck do you know about pain? At three years old?" he asked in his signature shouty exasperation. "Like you did WHAT day? What day is such a bad memory for you? You're FINE!"

Oliver concluded that "Under the Bridge" is pretty much his kid's "Baby Shark." We must ask that you please refrain from letting this funky toddler give you baby fever.

On a recent episode of his own late-night show, Oliver righteously slammed Ticketmaster after unearthing footage of the convoy organizer covering Disturbed earlier this year.
