Joey Cape to Lead North American Scorpios Tour in Tribute to Tony Sly

BY Gregory AdamsPublished May 16, 2013

Joey Cape and the other surviving members of folk-punk act Scorpios will pay tribute to the life and legacy of fallen band brother and former No Use For a Name leader Tony Sly this summer on their "To All My Friends" tour.

A quick note from Cape confirms that he, Jon Snodgrass and Brian Wahlstrom "will be playing many of his [Sly's] beloved songs," as well as their own on the upcoming North American trip this summer. The musicians had previously done the same over in Europe.

Presumably, in addition to their solo sets, the trio will collaborate on some Scorpios tracks throughout the night. The trek begins down in Southern California, but a number of Canadian dates have been booked between Vancouver and Montreal. You can see all the details down below.

As previously reported, in addition to the tributary trip, Sly will soon be toasted on an upcoming compilation assembled by Fat Wreck Chords' Fat Mike. Artists confirmed for the as-yet-untitled LP include Bad Religion, Lagwagon, Dropkick Murphys, Rise Against, NOFX, Frank Turner, Pennywise, the Gaslight Anthem and Bouncing Souls. A release date has yet to be announced.

"I wanted to make a comp that Tony would be so proud of," Fat Mike had previously said in a statement. "These bands were his closest friends and his favorite bands. I thank all of them for stepping up and showing their love and respect to Tony and his family. It'll come out in a few months and we're gonna have a fucking crazy party when it does. You're all invited to do the same."
