It's been over three years since Jenny Berkel released her sophomore LP Here on a Wire, but the Montreal-based folk figure will apparently be road-testing some new material this fall when she heads out on a Canadian tour.
Berkel hits the road mid-November, with dates booked in Ontario, Quebec and Nova Scotia. All of the shows have Berkel supported by Nova Scotia born singer-songwriter Jennah Barry. You'll find all of the date and venue specifics down below.
While Here on a Wire received a vinyl pressing earlier this year through Indoor Shoes, there will be new music on the way from Berkel in 2015. She's currently crafting an LP titled Pale Moon Kid, which has Daniel Romano taking on production duties. Earlier this year, Berkel toured Europe with Romano and performed in his band.
Details on the upcoming effort are slim, but it's said Pale Moon Kid is "full of country quiet and solitude," with the songs "contemplating childhood, family, and home."
