Jennifer Castle Joins Members of Constantines, One Hundred Dollars to Release Album as Deloro

Fans of rootsy Canadiana may want to put Toronto's Deloro on their radar ASAP. The outfit includes Jennifer Castle, Dallas Wehrle of Constantines, One Hundred Dollars' Dave Clark and Paul Mortimer, and artist Tony Romano.

The collective's self-titled debut is due out September 6 through Idée Fixe Records. According to a press release, the disc is a "collection of concise psychedelia" with styles that range from "Motown-styled garage stomp and AM guitar strum." Other descriptions include "cinematic psych," "bittersweet pop" and "punk rock hall of mirrors." The album was produced by Jeff McMurrich, and features songwriting and vocal contributions from all five band members.

Available digitally and on vinyl, the first pressing of the album is called the "Gold Edition." As the name suggests, the records are housed in fancy gold-stamped packaging. Coolest of all is this: "instead of having paper labels the information is foil stamped in gold directly to the centre of the discs, which is possibly a world first."
