Jay Z and Beyoncé Reportedly Donated Thousands of Dollars to Baltimore and Ferguson Protestors

The last year has seen a great deal of racially charged strife in the United States as protestors have responded to unnecessary police force used against African Americans, some of which has resulted in the deaths of young, unarmed black men. Over the weekend, rumours surfaced that Jay Z and Beyoncé have been directly involved in both the Ferguson and Baltimore protests.

Journalist, activist and filmmaker dream hampton shared a series of tweets that she's since deleted. In them, she explained how both Jay Z and Beyoncé have made financial donations of tens of thousands of dollars to help bail out protestors in the Ferguson and Baltimore protests.

She went on to explain how the arrests of protestors often resulted in extreme fines. She saw it as a way for the state to financially cripple activists.

Fortunately, Complex nabbed her tweets before she deleted them. You can read the whole chain of tweets below.
