Following a Twitter-based sparring match with his rhythm section after they quit, Memphis garage monster Jay Reatard has enlisted a new rhythm section. This time, the bass and drums come courtesy of Danish punk group the Cola Freaks.
Namely, Anders Thode and Jacob Elving will be backing Reatard's frantic punk pop from now on, Matador has revealed. And his news couldn't have come at a better time, with a mountain of tour dates booked from here until the new year.
First, the trio will spend a good chunk of time in Europe. Then, they'll tour the U.S., meeting up with the Pixies and Spoon for a few dates along the way.
