It's more than a little unfortunate that Morgan Wallen's recording catalogue sales have tripled since being filmed using the N-word, and Jason Isbell has now announced plans to give his gains from Wallen's latest release to a worthy cause.

On Twitter today, Isbell shared he receives royalties from Wallen's January-released LP Dangerous: The Double Album, as the former The Voice contestant covered his song "Cover Me Up" for the album.

"So... A portion of this money goes to me, since I wrote 'Cover Me Up,'" Isbell shared while pointing to the continued chart success of Dangerous.

He then announced his decision "to donate everything I've made so far from this album" to the Nashville chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), thanking his own fans and Wallen listeners alike "for helping out a good cause."

"Cover Me Up" first appeared as the opening track of Isbell's 2013 studio album Southeastern. Speaking with NPR in 2013, Isbell shared that the song was written for fellow songwriter and now-wife Amanda Shires.

"That was a hard one for me to even get through without breaking down the first time, because that one is really personal," he told the broadcaster. "It's not easy to sit down and open yourself up and say, 'This is how much I love you,' you know? It's scary to do that."

After TMZ posted a video of Wallen using the racial slur, the artist said he was "embarrassed and sorry," adding, "I used an unacceptable and inappropriate racial slur that I wish I could take back. There are no excuses to use this type of language, ever. I want to sincerely apologize for using the word. I promise to do better."

Last year saw Wallen have a planned SNL appearance cancelled after he spent the week leading up to the show partying without a mask. His second chance saw him perform on a December episode that we rated 4/10.
