Once again, there is more bad news from the Japandroids camp. Yesterday, the guitar playing half of the Vancouver garage pop duo, Brian King, got word from his doctor that he would not be able to begin touring in mid-May, forcing the band to yet again cancel another series of dates.
As previously reported, the day before Japandroids' new Post-Nothing album was released last month, King needed to undergo emergency surgery for a severely bleeding ulcer. Shortly after, the pair were forced to call off and reschedule a long series of live shows. Now, with recovering taking longer than expected, they've had to cancel even more shows and clear their schedule up to June 13, when they'll play Vancouver as part of this year's Music Waste festival.
On the plus side, their album still rules and they're still on our May cover, plus they'll still make it to Sled Island, the Ottawa Bluesfest and the Pitchfork Music Festival.
