Jack White Recruits Cold War Kids to Record Live Album at Third Man Records

When he's not pissing off his fans by selling rare LPs on eBay, Third Man Records boss Jack White is on a mission to work with everyone under the sun. Just last week, we learned that comedian Reggie Watts would be recording a comedy album during a live performance at Third Man in Nashville, TN. On December 12, SoCal indie rockers Cold War Kids will be doing the same.

The show hasn't yet been announced by either the label or the band, but Spinner reports that the band will be recording the live set on analog gear for a limited-edition release. Like the Reggie Watts album, only fans in attendance will be able to purchase the record, which will be pressed on split-colour blue and black vinyl.

Of course, knowing Third Man Records these days, there's always a chance that Jack will unload a few copies off on eBay.

Don't be surprised if Cold War Kids' set includes a few tracks off the new album Mine is Yours, due out January 25 via Downtown.
