Jack White is once again crossing into the world of baseball. This time, he's stepped up to donate $10,000 to help renovate the historic Hamtramck Stadium, one of the last remaining Negro League ballparks in America.

Efforts are currently underway to restore the field next year, and the Friends of Historic Hamtramck Stadium have launched a crowdfunding campaign to make that dream a reality. And one of the first big names to join the cause is White, WDET [via Pitchfork] reports.

The Michigan Economic Development Corporation is matching all funds raised, and White has already pledged $10,000 USD to help get things rolling.

The campaign is aiming to raise $50,000, and you can learn more about it here.

As previously reported, White and his Third Man Records have a lot in store for Record Store Day 2019, and you can learn more about that here
