J Mascis Returns to Canada on North American Tour

BY Josiah HughesPublished Jun 21, 2011

Following the release of his sparse, mostly-acoustic solo album Several Shades of Why earlier this year, Dinosaur Jr. frontman J Mascis will bring his solo show on the road for another trip through North America.

After hitting up Europe in July, Mascis will treat our continent to shows in August and September, including Canadian stops in Ottawa, Montreal, Hamilton, Vancouver, Calgary and Edmonton. Plus, we know Mascis will play the recently announced Rifflandia fest in Victoria, BC, though the exact day of that fest stop has yet to be revealed.

If the performances are anything like his Toronto show in March, they'll see Mascis playing stripped-down songs from his recent album alongside a handful of Dino Jr. classics.

Now before you complain that Mascis is not playing your town on his Canadian trip, note that there are many gaps in the schedule and a lot of time before the tour kicks off, meaning the odds are stacked in your favour that he might hit up your city or town.

For now, all confirmed J Mascis dates are available below.
