In tandem with the release of his new album The Off-Season, J. Cole is now expected to join the inaugural season of the Basketball Africa League as a player for Rwanda's Patriots Basketball Club.

Rwanda's New Times reports that the rapper "is on the club's roster for the competition," and will face off against the Nigeria River Hoopers this Sunday (May 16) in the BAL's season opener, which will debut at 7 a.m. ET.

The newspaper reports that Cole arrived in Rwanda two days ago and has entered a four-day quarantine ahead of the game.

Before turning his focus to music, Cole starred at Sanford High School in North Carolina and was a walk-on at St. John's, according to ESPN. His signing is said to be officially announced this Thursday (May 13), one day ahead of his new album's release.
