Forget running to the hills, Iron Maiden fans may soon be running to stores to pick up a pair of the band and electronics company Onkyo's new "Maiden Audio" headphones.
The partnership's product was officially unveiled yesterday (January 8) at Las Vegas' annual Consumer Electronics Show, with a gigantic statue of band mascot Eddie brought out to model the wares. As you can see up above, a cyborg version of Eddie, previously seen on the cover of the band's 1986 LP Somewhere in Time, has the headphones stretched across his flesh- and circuit-covered dome.
Fans may question why said undead creature would be wearing an extra set of cans since he clearly already has a pair grafted onto his skull, but the modelling job may well be insinuating that the Onkyo-approved technology is far superior to the freak of nature's '80s-era audio expectations.
The specs behind the "Maiden Audio" headphones have yet to be revealed, though the details are expected to arrive sometime between February and March.
