Incubus DJ Gets Restraining Order Against Former Band Member After Allegedly Receiving Death Threats

While beefs between hardened rappers are commonplace in the news, apparently things can get heavy for even the lamest of pop music stars. Take, for example, Incubus, whose hippy-dippy rap rock survived nu-metal and early 2000s alt-rock. According to reports, Incubus's Chris Kilmore (pictured) has just taken out a restraining order against the group's former turntablist over death threats.

Ex-Incubus DJ Gavin Koppell has allegedly been harassing his former band-mates for the past 11 years, Canoe reports. As a result, Kilmore first obtained a restraining order against him in 2003.

Recently, however, Kilmore and his girlfriend were out on a stroll, when they ran into Koppell. The ousted Incubus member threatened Kilmore, and referring to the previous restraining order, allegedly said, "You will get killed if you don't lift that order... People get killed in the street for that."

Kilmore has obtained a new restraining order against Koppell that will not allow him within 100 yards of the DJ. From our perspective, it seems like Koppell just really wants his old job back. It can't be an easy time to find work if you're a rap rock DJ.
