Incendiary Aim to 'Change the Way You Think About Pain' on New Album

Hear opener "Bite the Hook" before the album's May arrival

Incendiary have detailed a new album. The Long Island hardcore outfit will share Change the Way You Think About Pain on May 26 via Closed Casket Activities.

Following 2017's Thousand Mile Stare — which made Incendiary "100% serious," as vocalist Brendan Garrone previously told Exclaim! — Change the Way You Think About Pain is billed as the quintet's "leanest and unapologetically meanest" recording to date, "a perfect soundtrack to throw a brick through a window."

Continuing to mine the socio-political themes of their acclaimed sophomore LP Cost of Living, as well as the introspection of their aforementioned 2017 album, Garrone now shares of their latest in a statement, "The album title is meant to conjure the concept of pain avoidance. Most of the songs have some kind of tie back to the things everyone does to avoid feeling any semblance of pain. 'Pain avoidance' is a phrase me and [guitarist Brian Audley] came across and kept in the back of our minds."

Bruising opener "Bite the Hook" arrives today alongside the album news, and you can bang your head to its ferocious grooves below. Like Thousand Mile Stare, Incendiary's latest was engineered, mixed and mastered by Will Putney.
