Implodes

"Scattered in the Wind"

BY Alex HudsonPublished Feb 18, 2013

Last week, we reported about Recurring Dream, the very promising new album from Chicago atmospheric rock quartet Implodes. Now, the group have shared a track from the collection with "Scattered in the Wind."

This sprawling five-and-a-half minute song moves from ominous synth stabs to a fuzz-engulfed post-rock swoon that features reverb-swathed vocals buried low in the mix. There are some scorching psych leads, but for the most part, the focus here is on the blissful wall of amp noise.
