Iggy Pop, Grace Jones, Henry Rollins to Star in Silent Movie

Brace yourself for "the loudest silent movie on earth." It's called Gutterdämmerung, and it features a cast full of notable musicians.

The film stars Iggy Pop, Grace Jones, Henry Rollins and Eagles of Death Metal's Jesse Hughes. The concept is rather out-there; BEAT Magazine [via Pitchfork] reports that "this loud and dark fairytale" is about God saving the world from Satan's guitar.

Iggy plays an angel named, Rollins is a puritan priest, and Jones controls the testosterone of rock music fans. A live rock band will perform musical accompaniment to the film.

Gutterdämmerung is being helmed by Swedish-Belgian director Björn Tagemose. Below, watch a promotional film introducing the preliminary cast. In the clip, Hughes says that the film is "the real fuckin' deal, and it's the craziest fuckin' story you'll ever fuckin' see in a theatre." Tuesday Cross and Olivia Vinall also act in the flick.

There are a dozen musicians in the film, and more stars will be announced on a weekly basis. Fans can guess which stars will be announced in the coming weeks over at the film's website.
