After teasing the release with a new single and video earlier this year,
Copenhagen post-punk act Iceage have shared details for their forthcoming third album.
The release, which follows last year's excellent You're Nothing, is called Plowing Into the Field of Love, and features 12 new offerings from the band.
A press release indicates that the album offers a "clear, uncompressed sound," with frontman Elias Bender Rønnenfelt's vocals coming through more clearly than ever. The album is also said to include "wildly varied" reference points, "but the sound is uniquely and darkly Iceage as the record fights with itself, in the story it tells, and the sound it makes."
You may recall that the band's first leak from the video, "The Lord's Favorite," was a strange, country-tinged number. Today they've shared the video for "Forever," and while it's not quite as twanged-out, it still demonstrates an evolution in the Iceage sound. Watch both videos below.
Plowing Into the Field of Love is set to arrive on October 6 via Matador Records.
The group also have a busy two months of touring ahead of them, including Canadian stops in Montreal, Ottawa and Toronto.
