Hot Panda Announce Canadian Tour, Get Nominated for Best Artist, Best Album at Verge Music Awards

Edmonton indie pop crew Hot Panda have had a busy year, what with landing a deal with Mint Records and releasing their album, Volcano...Bloody Volcano, back in February. Now, the band have announced a pretty hefty Canadian tour to keep the ball rolling.

Kicking off in Saskatoon on September 9, the band will spend a month touring progressively eastward, hitting up Regina and Winnipeg before playing a whole 13 shows in Ontario. They'll make it as far east as PEI and perform at this year's Pop Montreal on their way home.

Along with the tour, Hot Panda have recently been nominated for best artist and best album at Verge Music Awards. Last year, the Weakerthans and Hey Rosetta took the top honours, but if you think these Edmontonians deserve the $25,000 prize this year, you can vote for them here.
