It's been a long eight years for fans of Hope Sandoval, wondering when the former Mazzy Star singer would release the follow-up to her 2001 debut, Bavarian Fruit Bread. Well, let the waiting end and let some smirks grudgingly appear across a legion of shoegazing faces: a September 1 release date has been announced for Through the Devil Softly.

The Nettwerk-released disc again features Sandoval, her Warm Inventions and My Bloody Valentine's Colm Ó Cíosóig, and a single for the track "Blanchard" will be available on August 4.

In fact, you can check out and download that song right here, right now. If this tune's any indication, the album will be dreamy and foggy enough to keep fans sadly smiling for a few more years.

Also, be on the lookout for a tours of North America and Europe later this year. And perhaps more importantly, stayed tuned for a Sandoval-led track on the upcoming Massive Attack album, as well as, get this, a new Mazzy Star album.

"It's almost finished, but when it will be coming out, I don't know," says Sandoval of the new, yet-untitled Mazzy Star record in the press release.
