Hello Harvard

'Silly Things' (EP stream)

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Apr 20, 2016

Hailing from Burlington, ON, two-man pop-punk group Hello Harvard is set to release their debut EP Silly Things early next month. Before the new set of songs arrives, though, Exclaim! is giving you an exclusive opportunity to hear the whole thing.

The record was produced by Steve McPhail, along with Chris McNeil of the Spoons and Glass Tiger. Bandmates Andrew Bontempo and Johnny Pomykacz describe the resulting sound as a blend of fun, upbeat dance, pop and punk — akin to "if Bruno Mars and Blink-182 became best friends."

From the gleeful bounce of opener and title track "Silly Things" to the mellow, melodic jangle of "Falling Fast," on through the crunchy rock'n'roll of "You're Mine" and eventually closing out with funked-up "Trappers," the album showcases a variety of vibes without ever losing the fun.

Silly Things is officially out on May 5. That same day, the band will play Canadian Music Week at the Painted Lady in Toronto, followed by an EP release show on May 19 at the Casbah in Hamilton.

Right now, though, give the EP an early listen. Pull on your dancing shoes and hit play below.
