Hear the Week's Best New Canadian Music: Billy Talent, Dear Rouge, Famba & Kyra Mastro

Do you feel that chill in the air? It must be election season! Thankfully, it's also once again that time for us to exercise our democracy with another crop of favourite recent CanCon releases.

This week, we have major surprise comebacks from both Billy Talent and Dear Rouge, with the former teaming up with Weezer's Rivers Cuomo for "End of Me" ahead of a new album Crisis of Faith. Rising Halifax producer Famba taps Toronto's Kyra Mastro to find the "Way Back Home," meanwhile bedroom pop artist Kennen remains "In Transit."

As for album releases, we've got Homeshake's Under the Weather, the legendary Rufus Wainwright's Unfollow the Rules (Live from the Paramour) release and the arrival of Metallica's giant Blacklist covers compilation — featuring re-imaginings of Black Album classics, including "Enter Sandman" by Alessia Cara and PUP's take on "Holier Than Thou." Another cover story comes from Bahamas and the 400 Unit, who put their spin on Sonny & Cher's iconic "I Got You Babe."

You also won't want to miss the new singles getting us hyped for records dropping later this fall, like Charlotte Cornfield's dangerous "Partner in Crime," Haviah Mighty's smooth-riding "Tesla," Arkells' new piano ballad "Strong" and "Chew Quietly / Clean Slate" from Megan Nash.

All this and more on The Eh! List below, presented by Mary Brown's Chicken & Taters — all Canadian and proud of it!
