Mercury Rev have assembled an impressive array of guests for their upcoming Bobbie Gentry tribute album The Delta Sweete. These include the likes of Margo Price, Hope Sandoval, Vashti Bunyan, Lucinda Williams and Phoebe Bridgers. The record also includes Norah Jones, whose album contribution has now arrived online.

Mercury Rev and Jones have taken on Gentry's "Okolono River Bottom Band," with Jones' vocals leading the cover.

In a statement, Mercury Rev's Jonathan Donohue said the following of the song:

While sipping concoctions from a coffee cup labelled "Near Enough," a brilliant mind once theorized that in any large enough system, even the most improbable event will occur. So, like bats in the moonlight, we pinged our sound out there and waited to see what bounced back…and then, much to our surprise what came back was Norah Jones singing the daylights out of our lil' pocket fantasia version of Bobbie Gentry's "Okolona River Bottom Band." Theorem proved.

You can hear the results by streaming "Okolono River Bottom Band" for yourself below.

The Delta Sweete Revisited arrives in full on February 8 via Partisan/Bella Union. It will mark Mercury Rev's first new studio album since 2015's The Light in You.
