Hear Julian Casablancas Cover the Velvet Underground for the 'Vinyl' Soundtrack

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Feb 19, 2016

Vinyl, Mick Jagger and Martin Scorsese's television endeavour into the realm of 1970s rock'n'roll, debuted earlier this week and now viewers can hear a track off the equally anticipated soundtrack.

As previously reported, the Strokes' frontman Julian Casablancas contributed to the show's musical accompaniment with a cover of the Velvet Underground's "Run Run Run."

Impersonating Lou Reed doesn't seem like much of a musical departure for the New York garage rocker, so it's no surprise that his rendition of "Run Run Run" is a pretty faithful one. You can give it a listen for yourself in the player below.

VINYL: Music from the HBO Original Series arrives on shelves today (February 19) via Atlantic/Warner Brothers.
